The Charter School Programs and Problems That Might Arise from It

Not every public school system is created equal. For every high quality educational system that provides a quality education to students, there is a low quality educational system that provides low quality education to the students that attend that school. This situation has caused many governments to consider starting a program known as charter schools.

The charter school program is a program that allows certain school districts to bus in children from a low quality education system so that they can receive a quality education through this higher quality educational system. The charter school is usually funded through the city or county funds for the school district.

The belief of a charter school program is that it allows certain students to succeed in academics because they have the opportunity to get a quality education that they might have been lacking in their original school system. However, as with all government funded programs there is a lot of controversy regarding the charter school program.

The first problem with the charter school program is that it only provides a limited number of educational opportunities to students. This means that if there are 20 children who might benefit from the charter school the charter program might only have enough money to send five students there. That means that there is a lot of unnecessary competition for education when students should just be allowed to receive a quality education.

Another problem with the charter school program is that it almost serves as a mask for the original educational system problems. Instead of providing higher quality teachers, better educational resources and other items to the low quality schools the school system will bus out good students and keep the existing problems. Many people believe that this is done on purpose to keep the low quality school constantly low.
